Houston was back at it again, showcasing Caribbean cuisine and culture at the 4th Annual Caribbean Rum Fest. This eclectic event celebrates and promotes the history and culture of Caribbean rum to the Houston community. Rum Fest hosted a variety of artists and performances – both local and international – and cooking demonstrations (and tastings!) by Caribbean chefs.
Many Caribbean islands were represented through art displays and the exciting food demos. In addition to a great crowd, the Houston sun was out in full force at this amazing event, so it made the rum samples and cool margaritas that much better! We also had the honour and pleasure of meeting (and tasting the fantastic food of) Haitian Chef Alain Lemaire in person. Look out for our interview with him in an upcoming edition of “Yes Chef!”.
